Every Day is Earth Day

EarthDay

Mother Earth, the only place we have to live.

The time we spend around nature helps us to reflect on our efforts to keep our planet healthy for our sake and the sake of all living creatures.

Every day is Earth day is a reminder that the task of taking care of our planet is a daily pursuit. Practices like reuse, recycle and re-purpose –that give a new life to our waste– are simple but meaningful ways to contribute.   It is estimated that every year we dump 19.4 billion pounds of plastic into the ocean. And, for anyone like us big fans of breeze summer days; this is shameful.

Government agencies and more companies are changing their practices and enforcing some changes on us too; like reminders to limit our water consumption, the ban on plastic bags, or to bring your own bag to the grocery store to mention a few.

Every day is Earth day is a commitment to environmentally-conscious daily choices and to enjoy more of nature from time to time.

As part of this global effort, we have gathered some inspirational quotes  that will make us appreciate more and more our tiny blue dot called Earth that is our home.

    1. “The earth laughs in flowers.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
    2. Earth and sky, woods and fields, lakes and rivers, the mountain and the sea, are excellent schoolmasters, and teach some of us more than we can ever learn from books.” ~John Lubbock
    3. “The best investment on earth is earth.” ~Louis J. Glickman
    4. “The earth is what we all have in common.” ~Wendell Barry
    5. “Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find resources of strength that will endure as long as life lasts” ~Rachel Carson
    6. “It suddenly struck me that that tiny pea, pretty and blue, was the Earth. I put up my thumb and shut one eye, and my thumb blotted out the planet Earth. I didn’t feel like a giant. I felt very, very small.” ~Neil Armstrong
    7. “God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought, disease, avalanches, and a thousand tempests and floods. But he cannot save them from fools.” ~John Muir
