“A different world cannot be built by indifferent people.”
~Peter Marshall
Exploring different realities, we put a list of films that made us think on our life purpose in this time and space. Some of them go back in time to moments of conflict in certain parts of the world while others give a different perspective about life.
This quote of Pope Francis addressing the Congress during his first visit to the U.S is very motivational. “Each son or daughter of a given country has a mission, a personal and social responsibility.” The full speech can be read here. There is a twitter hashtag #GoodIsWinning that focus on the papal visit reminding us that even when there are many wrong things in the world, we can opt for good regardless of our religious beliefs.
The first film on the list without any particular order is Mary & Martha, an HBO original film about two complete strangers and the circumstances in their lives that bring them together to join the fight against malaria.
The second one Hemingway & Gellhorn is a biographical film about what is to be a war correspondent during the Spanish civil war.
The third one, Paloma de Papel (Paper Dove) shows a closer view of terrorism in South America during the 80’s in the Peruvian Andes.
Happy People: A Year in the Taiga, follows and it describes what is to live surrounded by nature and no technology around you in the freezing Siberia.
Last but not least is The Shift, a movie that questions what’s important in life by a master in spiritual growth Dr Wayne Dyer who passed away this past August 30.
